Provided by DexKnowsDO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS TOXIC PLACE! My son attended MVDN for several years. He suffered so much that he was diagnosed with mild PTSD by a team of pediatric psychiatrists at UNM WHEN HE WAS FIVE YEARS OLD! He, and many other children, were abused by the director daily. She withheld water from them during outside activity and forbade them from visiting the rest room when they had to go. This resulted in many children soiling themselves. She would then shame them in front of the other children. I found my son walking around in his underwear in front of the other children, teachers, and parents one day when i came to pick him up. As punishment for various infractions, the children were forced to stand in her tiny office for extended periods of time. She regularly screams directly into the faces of the children. There is no laughter or fun at this school. The children and the other teachers are petrified of her. My son told me he was physically abused as well.
When this all came to light, many parents removed their children. CYFD and the police were called. We were all interviewed. There have been more than 30 investigations that I know of, and yet the school remains open. None of us knows how this is possible.
Several ex-teachers have reported verbal and emotional abuse by the director (focused on children AND teachers), cockroach infestation, and general uncleanliness.
Please do not send your children here.
