General Info

Dr. Lauri Medina is a Board Certified general surgeon at Southwest Medical Goup in Cortez, Colorado. Dr. Medina graduated from medical school at the University of New Mexico, completed her residency at St. Joe’s and her undergrad at Duke University. She performs general surgery and upper and lower scopes. She has a special interest in breast and women’s health. Dr. Medina is currently working to complete a Fellowship in integrative medicine at University of Oregon Health Sciences through the Academy of Integrated Health.{line break}Dr. Medina loves to help her patients pre and post op with stress management, nurition and pain control in order to help them get the best possible outcome and get back to doing the things they love. She enjoys working with Dr. Kevin Matteson because he is an excellent surgeon and they collaborate well together.{line break}Dr. Medina was drawn to Cortez because of the wonderful opportunities to play outdoors and the native population. She loves to bike, hike, ski and wakeboard.
