The West Albany Fire Department is a full-service public safety agency that provides fire suppression and prevention, rescue and public education services. The department works to protect the lives, property and environment of the residents from the threats and occurrences of emergencies. It uses a variety of equipment, including fire suppression and rescue vehicles, air bags and hand tools. In addition, the department organizes a variety of youth, public education and special programs that help and assist the public in normal fire and medical emergency situations. The West Albany Fire Department has several stations in Albany, N.Y.
