The New York State Correctional Officers & Police Benevolent Association is a union that represents more than 23,000 state employees in this security services unit. It operates a treasury department that is responsible for the administration of budgets, audits and financial reports. It also operates legislative department that provides membership education, as well as prepares annual testimony for the budget hearings. In addition, the union operates recording secretary, law enforcement, grievance, member services, health and safety, health insurance and legal departments. The New York State Correctional Officers & Police Benevolent Association has been operational since 1999 and is located in Albany, N.Y.
