      Established in 1982, Albany Medical Center is a health sciences center in the northeastern New York. Based in Albany, N.Y., he Center incorporates the 651bed Albany Medical Center Hospital, Albany Medical College and Albany Medical Center Foundation Inc. The center provides a range of specialty and subspecialty programs and it serves as the major referral center for the area's 3.5 million residents. Albany Medical Center has won the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for being a JCAHO accredited institution with an advanced certification in stroke care.
