Dr. Christine Whyte is chief of the division of pediatric surgery and one of only a handful of women pediatric surgeons in the country serving in the capacity of division chief. She specializes in trauma and oncology surgery, appendectomies and hernia repairs.She has a special interest in advanced newborn surgical procedures including treatments for congenital diaphragmatic hernia, and bowel atresia. She also has expertise in performing the highly specialized surgical procedure, the Nuss procedure, for pectus excavatum, and in treating Hirschsprungs diseasea disease of the large intestine.
