Best bookstore in Albany, by far.

The best bookstore in the tri-city area. I love books and love to browse, and this is the place to do it - a great collection of books, well thought-out, diverse, and ever-changing titles. Reasonable prices too. I much prefer this store to Borders, etc. It is a wonderful and exciting experience, every time.

Dove and Hudson is a solidly decent used book shop. The prices are reasonable and it's a great place to browse on a spare Saturday morning. The selection isn't great, but it's a small shop. They're a good local visit and worth checking out.
