Patients who need inpatient hospice care will now have a home of their own - the Willson Hospice House, a new dimension in care for patients and families who need this specialized facility. Built in the woodlands in Northwest Albany, Willson Hospice House provides patients and their families a safe and comfortable place for end-of-life care. The innovative design of this 39,000 square-foot facility welcomes the outdoors in, providing a calm and peaceful setting for patients and family members. The Willson Hospice House also has designated special areas for patients and families to be together, much as they would at their own home, including a kitchen where they cook and eat together, a sunroom, a quiet room, a playroom for children, a family laundry area and two non-denominational chapels. The hospice team includes board certified physicians, registered nurses, social workers, home health aides, chaplain, bereavement counselors and volunteers.
