Shelby County Treatment Center functions as a provider of substance abuse treatment services. It offers a plethora of services, such as long-term methadone maintenance, short-term detox, family counseling, addiction education, drug free counseling, clinical evaluation and medical examinations. Shelby County Treatment Center also provides after care planning, referrals to other agencies, follow-up, and job training and placement assistance. It has affiliations with the American Association for the Treatment of Opioid Dependence (AATOD), Alabama Methadone Authority, Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and Alabama Board of Pharmacy.
