On 3/21/2015, I received a birthday cake and smash cake for my daughter's first birthday party. The cakes were BEAUTIFUL! They matched our tea party theme perfectly. It was requested that she make a teapot cake as the child's smash cake and it was agreed that she could make this type of smash cake. The smash cake appeared normal from the outside, but the inside of the smash cake had wires in it. Some pieces of wire were as small as centimeter. WHO PUTS WIRES INTO A CHILD'S 1 YEAR SMASH CAKE???? The flowers at the bottom of the smash cake where stuck into the cake using the centimeter or smaller size wires and she used wires to make the spout and handle and connected them to the cake using wire. I actually witnessed my son attempt to eat one of those flowers with the small wire in it but I thank GOD that I noticed that it had a foreign object in it and stopped him. While at the party, I was thinking that that object may have come from some of the decoration on my daughter's high chair so I dismissed it and continued to allow my 2 year old son and 1 year old daughter eat the cake. When I got home, there was plenty of the cake left so I decided to taste it. When I cut into the cake I was SHOCKED to discover the wires throughout the cake. When I contacted the owner, Kristal, and notified her of my discovery and how my kids may have eaten wire, she informed me that was the only way they could make the cake and that they typically give warning of foreign objects in the cake, but acknowledged that she failed to notify my event planner this time of the wires inside of this teapot smash cake. When I asked the owner for a refund for the cake and smash cake, she stated that it was against their policy to offer refunds. I honestly don't think Kristal understands the severity of placing wire inside a smash cake and how harmful that could have been for my kids and anyone else that may have eaten that smash cake.
