The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, commonly known as Goodyear, is one of the world s largest tire companies. It manufactures tires, engineered rubber products and chemicals in more than 90 facilities in nearly 30 countries throughout the world. Goodyear employs approximately 75,000 people. Goodyear manufacturers and markets tires, several lines of belts, hose and other engineered rubber products for the transportation industry and various industrial and consumer markets, as well as rubber-related chemicals for various applications. The company was founded in 1898 and had 13 full-time workers through the turn of the century. Robert J. Keegan has been the chief executive officer of Goodyear for more than three years. He has been with the tire and rubber manufacturer for over six years. Keegan earned a BS degree from Le Moyne College, and a MBA from the University of Rochester. Publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange, Goodyear measures sales in the billions of dollars and operates in numerous facilities throughout the world and is headquartered in Akron, Ohio.
