Best Friend Express is a bus service for Aiken County public transit. It provides public and van transportation for people with disabilities. All of its buses are wheelchair accessible and equipped with lifts. The services is operated by the Aiken Area Council on Aging, which provides health care, wellness, nutrition, transportation and social services to aid in the prevention of critical acute care needs of people. The agency was organized in 1969 by a dedicated group of local volunteers who thought that Aiken County needed information, referral and counseling for older adults and their families. Aiken Area Council on Aging has received its charter as a nonprofit corporation from the South Carolina Secretary of State. The agency receives funding from various individuals, local, federal and state sources. Best Friend Express is located in Aiken, S.C.
