Ada Township Fire and Rescue Department responds to all fire, accidents with injuries and medical emergencies in Ada, Mich. The department covers Ada township, which is a 37-square-mile area with a population of 9,000. The department is staffed by three full-time personnel and more than 20 paid on-call firefighters. The department s firefighters have completed the Michigan Fire Fighters Training Council s firefighting course and the hazardous material operations training. The department s personnel are also trained as emergency medical technicians, paramedics and medical first responders. The fire department has all the required equipment including engines, grass trucks, tankers and a team of rescue squads. The department has been in operation for more than 24 years.
