Virginia Highlands Community College, established in 1967, offers bachelor's degree programs. The college provides instruction in health, engineering and industrial technology, human service and law enforcement, and science and horticulture. It operates the Virginia Highlands Community College Library and Learning Lab, which offers interlibrary loans. Virginia Highlands Community College also manages the Virginia Highlands Community College Educational Foundation, which is a nonprofit organization. The college operates the Tobacco Outreach program, which provides tuition assistance to tobacco farmers and their families. It manages Christian, horticulture and law enforcement clubs. In addition, the college offers distance education courses. Virginia Highlands Community College is a part of the Virginia Community College System.
