- SciaticaTherapists utilize manual traction by using their hands to pull people into a state of traction. Mechanical traction is used by lying on the table and utilizing a machine to relieve the pressure. Traction may be used for a variety of diagnosis, but here are a few examples: sciatica, herniated discs, facet disease, degenerative disc disease (DDD), and stenosis.
- Knee ReplacementI have been a client of OPTC for approximately two and a half years. I’ve worked with therapist Eric, MiKayla, and Taylor. Taylor has been my primary PT, I’ve only see the others in her absence. They are all exceptional. Taylor is great, kind, stern and competent. I came in for services after a total knee replacement surgery, feeling as I would never walk again without the use of crutches or a walker. Taylor worked with me and I can walk without the use of those devices. I would recommend OPTC to anyone and everyone. The front office staff are very polite and accommodating to your needs. This company is one of the best in Aberdeen. If you are in need of any type of Physical Therapy give OPTC a call.
- Sports MedicineAnkle sprains are common injuries. They occur when the foot twists or turns beyond its normal range of motion, causing the ankle ligaments to overstretch or tear. Ankle sprains happen frequently, both in athletes and in the general population. In the United States, ankle sprains make up 15% of all sports injuries. Athletes who participate in “cutting” and pivoting sports, such as football or soccer, are the most often affected. Younger athletes, those in the military, and anyone who frequently runs, jumps, and changes direction quickly are at an increased risk for spraining an ankle. Physical therapists help people with ankle sprains reduce their pain; regain strength, motion, and balance; and return to normal activities. They also help people avoid reinjury.
